Raise the Floor 2009 Design Challenge
November 2009
4th Place – Most Liveable Design
The challenge for this competition was to design a single family home on a pre-chosen residential lot in the Jacksonville area with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths and associated living spaces at 1,300 square feet or less (no small task I assure you). In addition to using a raised floor system, it was also encouraged to employ other engineered wood products into the design.
Our design sought to give a contemporary spin on the traditional Craftsman Bungalow seen throughout the neighborhoods of North Florida and incorporate a completely modern and open interior.
The competition was hosted by Raised Floor Living, the American Plywood Association and the North Florida Builder’s Association. Visit the APA website for more information.
