The client contacted me to design a +/- 4,500 square foot home in the Grand Cayman Islands for himself, his wife and two daughters. The program was quite specific and had to include 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, office, exercise room, chef’s kitchen, bar, entertainment room, living room, dining room and access to outdoor areas at the second level. The rear of the home also had to have expansive glass to take advantage of the view out to the harbour. All final materials, colors, fixtures, etc were to be chosen by client at a later date.

    • This design is entirely too large to reasonably adopt to shipping containers. Given it’s size you would need 10-12 across and 6-8 high to recreate the volumes of this home. This is a custom home designed using ICF construction and has some very long spans and high interior volumes.

      Thanks for the comments.
      Cheers.
